As a sales engineer at Ziegler Energy Solutions, Chris brings more than 16 years of clean energy experience to his work developing projects that help businesses, fleets, and utilities transition to sustainable power. At Ziegler, he leads strategy, business development, and client engagement for electric vehicle (EV) charging — often integrating solar energy solutions — and helps clients navigate a complex landscape of financial models, incentives, and grants to maximize their investments in clean energy.
Day-to-day, his role involves scoping projects, walking clients through the economics of electrification, and preparing proposals tailored to their unique needs. Whether identifying opportunities in federal programs like the Inflation Reduction Act, helping fleets leverage Volkswagen settlement funds, or navigating utility-level incentives, he ensures that projects are not only technically feasible but also financially viable. His expertise helps clients see past outdated perceptions of clean energy as “too expensive” and instead understand the clear cost advantages of EVs and solar.
His path into clean energy began right after college, when he joined a solar startup in 2009. He quickly worked his way up, gaining firsthand knowledge of how renewable technologies are built, deployed, and financed. That early experience — combined with a background in marketing and business administration — set the stage for a career that has spanned solar, batteries, recycling, and now EV charging. Over the years, he has learned the industry from the ground up, building deep expertise in both technology and markets.
For him, this work is more than just a career — it’s rooted in passion and conviction. He could never work for a company he wasn’t deeply invested in, and EV charging in particular has been a natural fit. As more companies realize the long-term savings and environmental benefits of electrification, he is excited to help lead the transition, making sure clients are equipped with the knowledge and tools they need to embrace a cleaner, more resilient energy future.
